You are right about the internet.

I use to randomly find interesting and odd things when searching the internet. It is now more directed. I fell I have to be very specific when searching and I do not get those links to the random interesting things. Ah, the good old days.

I think the internet has been AOL/Googlized. AOL was first to manipulate where you went on the internet. Google came along and it was great until it was AOLed.

Yah, it is interesting. I was completely horrified when I realized what was happening to me. What frustrated me the most is the mudanity of sameness that is exemplified by a problem like this. There are/were 2500 different kinds of antiperspirant and the are all EXACTLY alike, now that the ONE that was different has been taken off the market. It is like that with everything, especially television.

What fucking sense does it make to put a home-redecorating show on the Discovery Channel? Jesus Christ. Next it will be fucking Rachel Ray on C-Span hanging drapes in the Senate House while all of the Senators--at least those who showed up that day--decide about new paint colors.

Anyway, it just leads me closer to my ultimate fate, which is, of course, building a walled, off-grid compound which grows its own produce and only connects to the exterior world through the internet.

At least until a lack of net neutrality fucks that up too and we have to start building a new parallel internet for those who still believe in freedom.

That's funny/interesting. I am glad you have that recessive gene.... to not be afraid of looking at things from your view point and trust that view.

There is that independent spirit again. It is a rare thing today and getting more rare.

Too many people have given up their independence and seem to like having someone else making choices for them. This is ok for them, but it impacts us all. You don't have to do everything for yourself, it's just nice knowing you can if you need to.

The balance has shifted in that direction.
